I wish I looked this cool.
So in order to get my B.S. in Biology, I have to complete a legit research project. I have chosen to do mine on the phytoremediation properties of Brasenia schreberi. Without all the geeky, science terms; I am checking to see if this aquatic plant can "soak up" nitrates in the water. But I am having the hardest time just keeping the damn things alive! How can such a tiny plant, give me such trouble?
They are a really neat little plant though, they have this layer of slime under the leaf and around the stem. I might have picked this particular species of plant to study just because of this slime.
WTF?!
