It's a me! I'm back!

Okay, so I've been busy graduating college, starting a job and moving into a new town. Now that all the dust has settled, I will try to post something at least once a week. I've been crafting a new line themed, "Mad Max: Two Men Enter, One Man Leaves." Dun dun daahh!! Really when I start making a new line (my last one was called "To the Beach!) it's only because if I don't pick a theme, I will go all over the place. I will post pictures as soon as I get off my lazy papasan and do so. Until now, here's a little hint of my new themed stuff coming up.

What are these crazy little things? What could they be? You'll just have to wait and find out!

Crafty Lady

So it has been a while since I've done anything crafty. School is really kicking my ass and I have just been feeling very lazy the past few months. But my best friends decided to marry each other and so I offered to make their wedding invitations. She is a librarian and he is as nerdy as it gets. So I decided to make a library card wedding invitation. Enjoy the pictures below:

This is the total package. Cute, no?

It took me several weeks to get everything ordered and made. Then a long night to put it all together.

Here is the invitation. Blurred are the names, so you don't attack me in my sleep. Don't lie, you know you would.

The reception card. Made to look like a card catalog card. They asked me to use the dewy decimal number 507.8 because that is for "science experiments". Which I thought was nice.

I made all this using excel and word. I had them printed on cream colored card stock at my college. I bought a seal press (which later became their wedding present), stickers, and library card holders all online. It was pretty fun. Tedious, yes, but the payoff was quite nice. Everyone said they liked them, I only hope they weren't lying. The wedding was fantastic, they had a really great time and looked very much in love.
See, I think the border makes it all the more magical!
Also, check out the groom's cake... code cake?! Coolest. Cake. Ever. Ammitrite?!

Geekery Abound!

So I just recently pre-ordered the new FallOut 3: New Vegas game. I am really excited about it! I was creepishly in love with the last installment, FallOut 3. In love as is played-it-for-weeks-forgot-about-all-responsibility-love. So I am really interested to see what the new one will be like. Also, I read over here that they introduced robot sex into the mix. So... that will be interesting. Anyway, no one else I've talked to about this game is as excited as me. Is anyone out there? Plus I really love the music they use. One of my favorite songs of all time is "Civilization" by the Andrew Sisters, which was found in the last game. You can check out the debut trailer here. Tell me what you think!
Any other games coming out soon-ish that you are interested in?

On a side note: I hate how all over I am with this blog, is it a geek blog? A science blog? A personal blog? Craft blog? Shit in my soda I have no idea!
I think it's because I have so many interests. I know so many people that are just really good at one thing! Boom. Done. Me? I'm kind of good at many things, my interests are all over the place. So bear with me whilst I find myself out.

Senior Research

I wish I looked this cool.

So in order to get my B.S. in Biology, I have to complete a legit research project. I have chosen to do mine on the phytoremediation properties of
Brasenia schreberi. Without all the geeky, science terms; I am checking to see if this aquatic plant can "soak up" nitrates in the water. But I am having the hardest time just keeping the damn things alive!
How can such a tiny plant, give me such trouble?

They are a really neat little plant though, they have this layer of slime under the leaf and around the stem. I might have picked this particular species of plant to study just because of this slime.
WTF?!

My New Book

It's titled, "Wreck This Journal" and it wants to you to just that. At first I thought it was just kind of a novel idea, but I wasn't sure I would get into it. But as you can see, I am really excited about this book. I am not sure how long I will stick with it, but so far I have really enjoyed doing it. It's a nice relief when I come home and it makes me want to be creative, like it's mocking me. So I threw it down a few times, drew on it, rubbed it in dirt and poked holes in it so far.

This is the journal after I had it for a day.

I love the way each page gives you rules, and you can do what you want to it, it becomes totally yours!

So go out and get one, I got mine from B&N, but I'm sure you can find it anywhere, and possibly cheaper at Amazon... but then there is always shipping.

The Beginning... and possibly the end

Okay, so I've always wanted to start a blog, for no reason at all, but now I am stuck at the crossroads of which blog to choose. Craft? Cooking? My Life and thoughts about society?Hmm.. the possibilities are endless. I am, however, going to try and at least post something every once and a while. At least! So this being my first post, I have now given myself two weeks of trying to come up with something to post. In the meantime, I will post pictures of my animals, crafts, baked goods, ect. until I some up with something. Enjoy!

One of my terrarium presents I gave out as Christmas presents, this one has a little clay Charlie Chaplin that I made!

These are two out of three of my beasts. Peanut is the b&w one, Chloe is the second. They are terrors and companions all at the same time.
